New to the world of painting following retirement from finance and accounting, Elaine is currently a watercolor student at the Betsy Jacaruso Studio at the Chocolate Factory in Red Hook, NY, as well as a drawing student of Keith Gunderson. Her only other experience in drawing and painting was from two mini workshops conducted by Michael Newberry, Santa Monica, CA.

Born in Lynn Massachusetts she graduated with a BS in Chemistry from the University Massachusetts, Amherst, taught science and mathematics in Dutchess County, raised a family of three children, received an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Marist College and worked in Ulster County as an accountant and computer systems manager for 18 years. After retirement from full time work in April, 2006 she has been interested in learning how to bring the beauty of flowers and still life objects to paper.

Elaine has since attended workshops with several nationally known watercolor artists including Gerald Brommier, Eric Wiegardt, Diane Maxey, Mary Whyte, and Linda Doll.
